The Lucky One...

Tony had back surgery on Monday. He's been suffereing from an injury that took place about 8 years ago, while he was in the military. An injury that gave him misery at least once a year for what seemed to be 6 weeks or so at a time. This time, the most trying and painful of all. For the past 6 weeks, he's been seeing a doctor at least once every week. The pain treatment made him grouchy as did the pain. Needless to say, we haven't had much romance or quality time. However, we made it through! He's now recovering from his surgery that brought instant relief to the sciatica. Tony was running a bit of fever this morning, but hopefully it will not be a consistant high fever, which we'll definately be monitoring.
(Moment to remember:) I stayed with him overnight at the hospital. I was having trouble sleeping on the couch, because my blankets kept slipping off and out from under me, not to mention the nurses came in every 2-3 hours to get his vitals. Finally, at about 3am, I climbed into the hospital bed to snuggle with him. At this point he wrapped his arms around me and whispered "Will you marry me?" I asked if that was his official proposal, and of course it wasn't because he doesn't yet have a ring for me. So sweet!

It reads: I'm so happy. Thank you for taking good care of me. I'm the lucky one. I love that you're carrying out baby. I love you forever. Tony
