This morning's top news Not all MVP seasons are treated equally. Some players just happen to be the best that particular year, and some seasons can stand among the best of all time. We've seen two-way players before, but there's never been a player quite like Shohei Ohtani. It was clear this was a season unlike any other. Bryce Harper is just one of five players to be named Most Valuable Player for two different teams. Fourteen prospects on MLB Pipeline's Top 100 must be added to their club's 40-man roster by this evening or be subject to the Rule 5 Draft next month. Do you go with the AL MVP or one of the other four nominees? Voting ends at 5 p.m. ET today. It could be Adley Rutschman of the Orioles or Joey Bart of the Giants. Or a prospect from one of the other 28 teams. MLB Pipeline has a '22 Rookie of the Year candidate for each one. MLB Network looks back at the Rookie of the Year, Manager of the Year, Cy Young and MVP winners, Saturday at 10 a.m. ET.
Today's Trivia Question Excluding 2020, when there was no All-Star Game, who was the last player before Bryce Harper to win a league MVP Award in a year in which he didn't make the All-Star team?
