Roberto Clemente was one of the most complete players the game of baseball has ever seen. A two-time World Series champion, the Hall of Famer earned 15 All-Star Game nods while claiming four NL batting titles and the 1966 NL MVP Award. Clemente was a must-see attraction in right field, where he won 12 consecutive Gold Glove Awards, and he amassed 3,000 career hits. Today marks 50 years since Clemente died in a plane crash at age 38 while attempting to deliver humanitarian aid to earthquake victims in Nicaragua.
