Who was the last Cardinals outfielder to win NL Rookie of the Year?
| In the Major Leagues in 2022, there were 14 teams who finished with losing records. A number of them will likely lose more games than they win in 2023, as well. But not all of them will. One or more might even make the playoffs. How do we know this? Because this almost always happens, every single year.
There were three teams last year to go from below-.500 to the playoffs (Mets, Padres, Guardians). There were four such teams in 2021 (Giants, Brewers, Astros, Red Sox), two teams in 2020 (White Sox, Padres), one in 2019 (Twins) and two in 2018 (A's, Braves). | With Opening Day just weeks away, MLB Pipeline is hitting every Spring Training camp across Florida and Arizona to provide reports on all 30 teams' farm systems and top prospects.
| Lars Nootbaar, Team Japan's newest folk hero and originator of the pepper grinder celebration, now has a dish named after him at a ramen shop in Tokyo. | | |
| Domingo Germán is scheduled to start for the Yankees against Matt Manning and the Tigers in a St. Patrick's Day matchup at 1 p.m. ET. | | |
