What's new
Every day, we work to make our platform the best it can be, which includes regularly revisiting our terms and policies (also known as our House Rules) to make sure they meet the needs of our growing community and allow us to continue to support you. Today, we're sharing a few updates that go into effect on September 15, 2024.

While we encourage you to read up on all the changes, here's a quick look at some of the changes that affect you as an Etsy member:
Terms of Use:
We've made some changes to our dispute resolution clause (section 11) for users in North and South America, with updates to our arbitration procedures for smaller matters and for coordinated or "mass" arbitrations (with 25 or more claimants). We have also updated the choice of law that's applicable to the Terms. As before, the arbitration agreement includes a class action and jury waiver, which means we'll be resolving most disputes in private, individual arbitration, and not in court. Please read this section carefully.
We've added which entity acts as the merchant of record, depending on a buyer's currency and location of your payment instrument.

Privacy Policy
We've updated our Privacy Policy to give you more details about how we collect, use, and share your information, including to reflect new products and features, as well as changes to our business practices.
For our US users, we've also added more context about how we collect and use your data, whom we share it with, and how to exercise your rights.

Gift Cards, Credits, and Coupons Policy
We've revised our Gift Cards, Credits, and Coupons Policy in light of the newly updated Etsy Gift Card experience in the US to clarify that only Etsy-wide gift cards are permitted.
Etsy's Creativity Standards
You might have seen that we recently updated Etsy's Creativity Standards, which went into effect July 9, to clarify what items can be sold in our marketplace. This includes items made, designed, handpicked, or sourced by our sellers.

Adult Nudity and Sexual Content Policy
